So you have figured out how your camera works. You’re creating a good composition, exposure is correct. By all means you’re creating great photos, But, something is missing. INSPIRATION for that next level photo shoot.
The saying “good artists create, and great artists steal” It has a quality of truth, but instead of stealing, get inspired.
Use Instagram, Pinterest, 500px etc, and find photos in your genre. Study how the most liked photos have used things like lighting, effects, details and even the overall concept, then emulate them into your own work.
This technique is especially helpful if you are heading out to shoot something that you don’t normally shoot. For instance, I went to shoot a friends football match not too long ago. I’ve never shot a football match before, so i flicked through Instagram and a few other websites to get inspired for the best angles, peak action apexes and any other details I could find to inspire my sideline shooting session.
Hope you enjoyed this weeks tip, most of all I hope it helps with inspiration for your photography.
happy shooting
