WHO IS LEE?
Lee Cooper is a forest photographer based on the edge of the New Forest, dedicated to documenting the quiet, ethereal characters of the UK’s ancient woodlands. Much of his time is spent deep within these landscapes, chasing those fog-laden moments.
With a moody, cinematic approach, Lee’s work is a study of atmosphere and connection. Through his collaborations with the Woodland Trust and his role as a Sony Europe Advocate, he seeks to tell visual stories that help people reconnect with these rare, rain-drenched environments. When he isn’t capturing the forest for a project, Lee leads immersive workshops, helping photographers embrace the damp, challenging conditions of the woods to find the beauty in the gloom.

ENDEAVOURS & PROJECTS
The Rainforest Project: A long-term visual study of the UK's remaining ancient rainforest pockets.
Sony Europe Advocate: Field-testing imaging technology in high-moisture, low-light environments.
Immersive Workshops: Leading seasonal photography experiences across the South West of England.

LEE’S FAVOURITE GLOVES
“In the New Forest, the conditions are rarely static. I’m constantly moving between heavy, damp mist and those biting, frost-filled mornings that catch you off guard.
The Milford has become my everyday, go-to glove for the forest. When the air is thick with moisture and the trees are dripping, the windproof, water-repellent shell is essential for keeping the dampness at bay. The fleece lining keeps my hands functional and warm during those long, still waits for the light to break through the canopy.

When the temperature truly drops and the winter frost takes hold, I switch to the Markhof Pro V3. It’s the gold standard for a reason; it strikes that rare balance between deep insulation and total dexterity. I can adjust my Sony’s dials and feel the shutter with absolute precision. In the woods, your hands are your most vital tool and these gloves ensure I’m focused on the frame and the atmosphere, not the freezing conditions.” — Lee Cooper
