The Alta Arctic Mitt is designed to be worn over a base glove (we recommend Tinden or Markhof Pro V3) for maximum warmth and protection against freezing temperatures, icy winds, and snow. The Alta Arctic Mitt glove is large in volume, most likely the biggest gloves you've ever owned. But it's all for a reason. It acts like a warm sleeping bag for your hands when you need it the most.

Finding Your Perfect Fit
Our sizing chart is designed to give you the best balance between camera feel and warmth. But every hand is different — some are long and lean, others short and wide — so fit can vary slightly from person to person.
Between sizes?
We recommend to go up one size. Prioritize the girth measurement (around your knuckles). If the girth is too small, the glove won’t fit comfortably.
Wearing Liners with Gloves
We recommend choosing the same size for your liner and glove. Liners are made to fit snugly inside your camera gloves without affecting dexterity.
Exceptions:

If you’re at the top end of a size range, size up the glove when wearing liners often.

If you prefer a looser fit, size up the glove, but you may reduce camera control.

Harness for Easy Carry
Alta Arctic Mitts include a carabiner clip and a Glove Harness to keep the Alta's around your hips and out of the way when not needed.
Never worn a glove harness? You are in for a treat! Just drop your gloves and let them hang or tug them behind your back without worrying about losing them.
