When shooting snowboarding, a decent picture has to have at least some hint of movement and show the dynamic of snowboarding itself. Thus, composing a snowboard photo is important and you should try to apply the rules of composition to all your shots. To get a better understating of why composition is important in capturing the movement and dynamic, it helps to understand that the camera captures a scene differently to the way in which we view it. 

What to do when things don't go to plan? A huge part of getting that great shot you had imagined, in fact, a massive part of photography, in general, is problem-solving. The better you can manage a situation the more likely you are of hitting that banger.

When it comes to snowboard photography, it is essential to capture the right moment. Know what your rider is going to do and let the rider know how you want the end photo. In other words, talk. As a photographer you should have completed the necessary preparation (getting the right angle, distance, and lighting). But still, with all that sorted, it can be hard to get the shot you want.
