Fab Latham

WHO IS FAB?

Fabiano (Fab) Latham is a half British, half Brazilian photographer and filmmaker specialising in wildlife, adventure and the outdoors. He is currently based in London but spends most of his time trying to escape to much colder places.

His parents met on an expedition in the Amazon. His father a local boatsman who would guide scientists down rapids, and his mother the field nurse and only medical personnel who dealt with snake and piranha bites, as well as Amazonian hornets capable of stinging even whilst submerged under water. It’s safe to say this adventurous spirit was passed on.

His work has taken him from documenting polar bears in the Canadian Arctic and orcas in northern Norway to sailing through Greenland and Svalbard and documenting wildlife across Antarctica, Iceland and East Africa.

Alongside his personal wildlife work, Fab creates films and photography for global brands and even the odd wedding. Most of Fab’s personal work leans toward an element of humour, taking his work seriously but never himself.

HOW TO WILDLIFE by Fabiano (Fab) Latham

Fab is the author of HOW TO WILDLIFE: A Field Guide to Being in the Right Place at the Right Time, a practical, story-driven guide to finding and photographing wildlife.

FAB’S FAVOURITE GLOVE

“My favourite glove is probably the Markhof V3, originally a gift whilst getting freezing hand syndrome in Iceland. I love the green colour and, as I’ve used them so much, they’re mega flexible and almost moulded to my hands. I’ve absolutely taken them to hell and back, drenched in sea water and frozen solid, and I enjoy them even more in their battered state as they still work as good as they did the day I got them.” — Fab
