Not For Winter nor for a Photographer

The Ipsoot gloves are beautiful and have a great built quality, I brought these when it first came out a few months before winter. So didn’t get to test it till 3 month later, and I found that the glove isn’t as warm as advertising, I live in Munich, Germany. I tested this during a normal day shooting in the winter at 1°C and my fingers and hand still feels the cold to the point, where started to get numb hurting/freezing after 1 hour I have to call it to quit, and go back inside. Even with the liner it didn’t help. Took it on a few hiking trip and the same thing. I don’t recommend this glove for winter in Europe or for photography.

Great gloves but not as warm as expected

First I would like to say that the support is awsome. I was doubting about the right size and after some chatting with one of the support agents I decided to go with the XL size. But unfortunately they where a bit small when wearing the liners beneath it. So I returned them and before I delivered them at the postoffice I got a message that a larger size was on its way. Great!

About the warmth, I only tried the ipsoot without liners yet. It was about 0 degrees celcius but my fingers became a little cold anyway. I always have very cold hands so it is not very special so I think that a avarage person have nice warm hands in it. I think that with the liners it is OK for me. Only the weather changed and I didn't need the gloves anymore at this moment.
The fabric is somewhat stiff but I think it will change when i wear them more often.
Overall I am very happy with the gloves and hope to wear them a lot this winter.

Happy to help and awesome that overall you like the gloves - yes, they will give in a bit with time and will become like a second skin for winter :D Thanks for taking the time to write the review, much appreciated! Happy winter shooting!
Expensive but great quality

Very pleased with the gloves which are super comfortable and warm. Having read various reviews, I decided to go for a size up from what is indicated on the size chart and am very pleased I did so. Great quality though and very pleased with the purchase

Stoked to hear that you love the gloves David! Happy shooting :D
Well made, but sizing leaves something to be desired

The Ipsoot Photography Gloves seem to be well made, but the fit doesn't match the guide on the Vallerret web site. I originally ordered medium, based on Vallerret's fitting chart and other gloves from various brands I bought in the past. The medium size gloves were extremely tight through the palm and were pretty much impossible to get on with the wool liner gloves (that were also quite snug). I exchanged the mediums for size large and found that these were also tight around the palms, but not as tight as the mediums. Of course, the fingers are a bit long for me, but at least I can get the gloves on over the wool liners. These glovers could be a five star product if the fit was better.

Hi Albert! thanks for your feedback, much appreciated as we constantly work on improvements :) Happy winter shooting!
Not as warm as expected

The Ipsoot gloves are beautiful but not as warm as expected. I live in NYC and intended to use them during the winter to shoot wildlife. I tested the gloves during the weekend (2°C / 35°F) and my hands started hurting / freezing after 1 hour. I doubt that purchasing a liner would help, not to mention that it would somehow render the finger openings quite useless. I cannot figure out how people use these gloves in places such as Maine, the Alps, or Iceland. I suggest that Ipsoot designers have a look at how warm the Heat Holders gloves are (though unfortunately bulky and not suited for photography) so that they can come up with a solution for ladies with finger-freezing issues like me.
Also, the laminated micro twill (referring to the part of the gloves that are not leather) attracts dust. I reached for a facial tissue in my pocket and it looked like snow had poured over the gloves.

Hi Annie! Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated! Yes, the gloves are also intended to be used with the liners if needed, so no problem with pairing them with one - please make sure it fits snuggly as it allows for the best poke-in and out action :) I hope you can still make it work for you. If you have any questions or doubts you can always reach us at support@photographygloves.com cheers, Anna
