This 100% merino liner enables the use of the flip tech whilst leaving nothing exposed and still able to swipe your phone or touch the LCD screen on your camera. Add the extra layer for warmth, or use by itself on a mild winters day.

Here are the things to consider when choosing the best photography glove for you.

#1 “what am I shooting and how cold is it going to be?”

Each of our models have a winter rating from Mild to Deep. These ratings can go a long way for you to make a decison on the best photography glove for you.

Lets look at some examples.
If your heading away on a “city exploring trip” with a few sunrise and landscape missions then the Markhof is your everyday glove and perfect for this type of photo mission. We like to say this glove can take you from the “Peaks to the Streets”. The W’s Nordic also fits in this category.

Are you Snowboarding / skiing and dealing more directly with your hands in the snow? Then the Trigger mitt with it’s solid design of leather and twill might your choice here.

If you are in the arcitc, hanging out shooting the northern lights, or you are spending your days in the backcountry, hands down you are going to want the warmest model we have. This is the Ipsoot.
(On a side note, if you are going to shoot the northern lights you might want to check out our article on “how to capture the northern lights” )

Moving on….

#2- Male or Female?

If you have to ask yourself if you are male or female then imagine a laughing man in the background (Insert smiley face). This is a question about your hand size and whether you have a slim hand or not.

For the females with the petit and thin hands, the W’s Nordic may be the perfect glove for you, with a combination of fit and extra warmth created by Thinsulate Insulation in between the merino and outer shell this might just be your new best friend.
I know some males have thin hands as well, and if that is you then you are in luck and have this brilliant glove as an option to keeping you out there enjoying winter in all it’s glory.

The Ipsoot, Markhof and Trigger Mitt are unisex models, so this question is a matter of elimination and one step closer to finding the best photography glove for you.

#3- What’s my style?

We all want to look good right? Nothing like a sweet looking new piece of gear to boost the ego. Whilst “style” is a key element in our design consideration when creating our products, I’m not only talking about your fashion sense here. Rather, do you run around a lot whilst shooting. Do you hunt for the one image then sit around waiting for the light to explode into brilliant rich colours? These questions might mean that your temperature rating from earlier may get warmer or colder dependant on the amount of energy you expend whilst on set. Thus you may need to add our Merino liner to your set up so that you have the ability to layer (to learn more about layering see here).

Finding the best glove for photography is easy, head to the Vallerret shop (photographygloves.com/shop) , deciding on the best model needs a little thought. If you are still not sure and need some assistance, we are always happy to help so shoot us a message.
